8eighty8

If you have no plans for tonight, i suggest you go to club 8eighty8.  It is still a fairly new club that started in the winter 2010 so that may be why you have never heard of it.  It has great music and is a fun place to go dance if your over 21.

If you can’t read the address here it is 4647 Macaurthur Blvd. in Newport Beach and try to arrive early as not to have to pay cover.  Its free before 10:30, $10 until 11 and $20 after.

Senior Thesis Film Screenings at Chapman University

Recently, I have had the pleasure of seeing the past 3 Senior Thesis cycle Screenings. As a business student, I must say that I’ve been completely taken aback by how beautiful, exciting, interesting, and bold that many of these movies have been. We all have heard how the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts has been growing, how the caliber of film students is incredibly high, and how the school is rivaling the top film schools in the country. But from my perspective at least, many Chapman students feel that the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts is its own island of film students that are separate from the rest of the campus. But again, that’s just from what I’ve seen.

I know many students never even see the beautiful work that is produced in the film school. Which is why I encourage Chapman students to visit these screenings. These directors, producers, cinematographers, editors, sound designers, production designers, etc. have lived and breathed their movies for the past year, and it’s definitely worth checking them out. Many of the films really are extremely entertaining, thought-provoking, and fun.
